About Veronika Horytska
Veronika Horytska (Ukrainian: Вероніка Горицька) is a Ukrainian artist. She lives and works in the Rhine-Main region, in the Aschaffenburg area near Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Her work spans three areas: acrylic and oil painting, textile art, and object. In the paintings, the body, figure and pictorial space are central — often in a reduced palette, with recurring motifs such as the human figure, masks, and human–animal hybrids (notably the yak/bison). In the textile work, worn objects emerge — coats, vests, headwear — carrying hand-drawn or embroidered illustrations, frequently in direct dialogue with Ukrainian folk art and archaeology: motifs from the Trypillia culture, Scythian gold ornament, and Ukrainian calligraphy recur throughout.
The Ukrainian cultural background is consistently present — in titles, material choices and visual language — from handwritten Ukrainian text on textile pieces to work titles such as "Вершники" (Horsemen) or "Переслідуючи звіра" (Tracking the Animal). The work stands in dialogue with contemporary and avant-garde visual language, without being claimed for a single art-historical movement.
